Albedo OnePerfect reflection

Your documents are yours.

Albedo One builds Windows software that keeps your data safe on your own computer, under your own rules.

No sign-up forms, no internet dependency, and no monthly fees. No automated service inspecting your files, and no account policy standing between you and your documents.

Your documents are yours: you decide where they live, how long they last, and who gets to read them.

You know how the other way can go. Files placed in someone else's system are subject to rules you do not control. Accounts can be restricted, services can change, and automated systems can make mistakes. When years of personal documents depend on continued access to one account, that is a risk worth taking seriously.

We build differently. Our software runs on your computer, works with files you own, and requires no account. Access to your documents should not depend on a service continuing to grant permission.

Albedo One is a small, independent software company. New products will appear here only when they are worth talking about.

No single copy of anything is safe, not with our software and not with anyone's. Three habits cover almost everything.

Keep the originals close. Your documents belong on your own machine, organized well enough that you can actually find them when it matters. That's what Nest is for.

Keep copies you can trust. Keep point-in-time copies on a second drive, and check them now and then: a copy you never verify is a hope, not a backup. That's what Guard is for.

Keep one copy far away. Fire and theft don't care how good your drives are. An off-site copy completes the picture. If it goes to someone's cloud, encrypt it before it leaves your machine. Encrypted, the cloud is just a rented disk that can't read your files, judge them, or lose interest in them. If it ever deletes them, you still have the others.

Backups aren't a product you buy once; they're a habit. Good software just makes the habit easy to keep.
